All Aboard: Virtual Field Trips

Ellen Manning

with Ellen Manning, Laurie Patti-Dillon, and Julieta Beam; Kaplan University, USA

Description:
Humanizing our synchronous communication with students during live seminars or student conferences has always been an objective for effective online teaching. One method that engages students is the virtual field trip. These web-based trips must be relevant to the topic at hand, but can also expand a concept, idea or objective of a lesson and enable the student to extrapolate information and construct his or her own learning outcomes. The results can be enriching and rewarding and just plain fun.

    Dear All,

Thank you for this wonderful and informative presentation. I didn’t know anything about ‘virtual field trips’ before. I have already emailed my head of department about your ideas to arrange one for our students.

I also would like to reflect on your presentation im my blog if it is ok?

    Regards,

    Fulya
