The presentation describes the format and rationale behind the sessions which were a part of the middle school’s activities program at the American School of Rio de Janeiro in the 2007-8 school year. In these sessions, students were engaged in reflecting on their actions within different virtual game environments and we will discuss the potential benefits of the program. We will also explore the potential of different computer games, known as COTS, as means to connect curriculum and students’ interests within different subject areas.

    Some interesting links:

A talk at a gamers conference about the games, reality and reward. A great peak into the minds of ‘gamers’ and, in all likelihood, your average person.

This is a quick article talking about some of the applications of Lee Sheldon’s ‘experience points’ for businesses, but an idea I’ve been toying with for classroom implementation. Not related to COTS, but a game nonetheless.
