Description:
Delivering online student services is not what it used to be. Is it sufficient to provide static information on college websites or are online students expecting more? What impact will engaging students using social media tools have on success and retention? This session will provide ideas, examples of good practices, and engage the audience in lively discussion.
About the Presenter:
Anita Crawley has been at the forefront of bridging Student Affairs and online education. Crawley teaches for the Illinois Online Network through the University of Illinois and other organizations, and is also working on a dissertation from Capella University from the Instructional Design for Online Learners program. She has two Master’s degrees – one in Counseling and Human Services from Roosevelt and the other in Education Technology Leadership from George Washington University.

Thanks – wish we had more time. Anita
Clicking on the recording link yields a message that there is no recording. If this is not true, would you please email me the link to this session? I had to step away from the conference during this session and really was sorry to miss it. Email address is slocastro@msde.state.md.us. Thank you for any help you can give!
The recording is now available. Anita
Very interesting session. Rich with important information and useful hints. However, at times the voice was not very clear.

I’m glad it was helpful. I’m sorry the voice quality was not great. Anita
Anita’s talk included a great graph on the different types of student services offered at most colleges. The title of the slide is “The Scope of Online Services” and its worth keeping. Is there a link to the full size verision? Thanks Anita, it was an informative presentation.
Jenny,
Thanks for the kind words. Here’s a link to a report that includes the “spider web” graphic.
